“I’m absolutely honoured to have been chosen to represent the Labour Party here in Orkney and Shetland as their candidate at the General Election in May. Throughout my life I’ve seen how Labour values can make a huge difference to the lives of ordinary working people – but I’ve also seen the devastation that a Tory Government can bring.

 

This constituency has returned a Liberal MP since 1950 but I want voters to really think about how they are going to cast their vote this time around.

 

I know there is a great deal of Labour pride and Labour values here.

 

I know a lot of people are horrified at the idea of another five years of a Tory government, propped up in a Liberal Coalition. 

 

Labour are the change we need to see in this country and in this constituency. I’m looking forward to getting that message out around these islands.”
